For the week of February 6th thru the 13th, be sure to read your Rising Sign as well:
Aries
In the darkness before the dawn, exhaustion descends. Physical fatigue combines with emotional disenchantment this week. Lean into it. Slow down. Have mercy on your smoldering Aries soul. Saturn stands at the door, and the mere thought is exhausting. You are not in the mood. You know that the world is tilting on its axis, taking us all for the ride. But it is all you can do to prepare for the uninvited guests that are standing at your door. Uncharacteristically, you just don’t have the energy to prepare the way. You know at some point you are going to have to step up the plate. But not today. There is way too much to process. When Saturn enters Aries, as it will on the 13th, it commences a whole new 29-year cycle of growth, learning and manifesting. For some Aries, it may even feel as if much of your life is ending, or about to. And if that is true, it’s only because certain things are needing to make way for the new beginning that is implied by Saturn entering your sign. The lessons of Saturn being in your sign, depend so much on knowing who you are, and what you want to achieve. This is not about what other’s expectations are of you. This is about what you know is right for you. Even if it means starting all over from scratch. In the process you may break ties, change direction, and consolidate plans, as you find yourself becoming ever more self-directed and self-disciplined in a way that you are not usually accustomed to. But for right now, this week, reserve your strength. You will be needing it later on.
Taurus
The cosmic winds are shifting and they are taking you along for the ride. What used to appeal no longer does. Alliances are shifting along with the landscape. You can almost feel the earth shifting beneath your very feet. One thing that could become apparent is the necessity of letting go of a past that is no longer relevant for who you are and are becoming. Now that Saturn is entering Aries on the 13th, you will begin to experience a withdrawal from what once was. Goals, careers and even dreams can change with this transit of Saturn in Aries. You begin to realize the your life is going through some sort of profound transition. Taurus is a sign that is usually accustomed to having the earth support them. But with Uranus in Taurus these past 7 years, and now Saturn entering Aries it could feel as if you are losing your bearings. Things seem to fade. As a result a part of you may stand in trepidation, as you are launched into what could feel like unknown territory. Know that there is no going back once you let go of the familiar shore. Saturn in Aries represents an inner shift, a release, a letting go. And the changes that occur in the years that Saturn is here allow you to tie up the loose ends of the life that was in order to allow you to step into the life that is waiting for you when Saturn enters Taurus a few years from now. In the mean time, Saturn in Aries asks you to weed out the garden, simplify your life, make room so that new seeds can take root. Pay attention, for with Neptune here as well, your intuition, your dreams, your conscience will serve as guideposts as you move through this liminal pass.
Gemini
On Friday, your ruling planet Mercury enters the sign of Pisces where it will remain until mid-April. This is an unusually long period of time for changeable Mercury to linger in any sign, never mind a sign that requires Mercury to go within, reflect, and withdraw. Know that this could be helpful in allowing you to adjust to the new reality that is emerging. It may feel like certain things are ending, or in danger of doing so, even as it is apparent that you are simultaneously entering a new chapter of your life. A lot of internal growth has been occurring these past several years. And as a result you could be feeling by now that you have outgrown certain aspects of your life. The things that used to excite you, no longer do. As a result, friendships and previous affiliations begin to fade. Alliances are shifting as you move in different directions. In order to be prepared for the new era to come, you are being asked to reassess your hopes and dreams for the future. It’s like an update. Use the Mercury in Pisces transit to prepare yourself for this next leg of your journey. Go within. Connect with yourself, your dreams and your vision for the future. Some things will get lost in the shuffle, but you could also see some old allies returning, and old dreams being revived. Just know that by the time that Saturn leaves Aries, those dreams, people and visions for the future that do remain, are likely to be there for the long haul. You are resetting your inner gps system, and that is a really smart thing to do right now.
Cancer
Cancer can often sense things before they even happen. You can feel it in the air, and in the very depths of your soul. It’s a knowing that can not and will not be denied. This feeling will be especially strong next week on the 12th, as the Moon enters the Saturnian sign of Capricorn. Like a mountain goat standing at the top of a mountain you can see all of the events that have led up to this time, as well as all of the possibilities that are unfolding before you. It can be both frightening and exciting at the same time. The next day Saturn will enter Aries commencing a whole new 29-year cycle. And you will be feeling the enormity of it in your bones. This is because the years in which Saturn is in Aries represents something of a culmination for Cancer. No matter what is happening it often brings this feeling that a great deal is being expected of you, and could even involve some sort of change in the way that others perceive you. People make serious decisions about their future at these times. You walk into a new position. You become a parent, open a new business, get a new role, a promotion, or you become known for something that you’ve been working towards for a really long time. A lot depends on what you’ve been dong up until this time, but it is when Saturn enters Aries that you will see both the rewards and consequences of all of your efforts these past 15 years. Do not be discouraged if you are not happy with the results you are seeing, for this is also your opportunity to turn it all around and show the world what you are really capable of achieving. Your role as a leader is going to be polished one way or another. There is no other recourse but to step up to the plate, willingly shouldering whatever expectations are now being made of you.
Leo
When presented with periods of profound change, we can resist, or we can accept the inevitable. It can bring a little trepidation, but also know that this is also when we can achieve the most growth, and make the most progress. Things will be moving swiftly over the next few weeks, so allow yourself to be flexible enough to ride the waves of change. Next Friday, Saturn will enter Aries, and to make the most of the next few years that Saturn will be in this sign, you will have to open yourself up to the idea that there is still so much more to learn, and so many ways in which to grow. It is time to be real and know the difference between right and wrong, and between truth and falsehood. And to do so in an objective and dispassionate way. Don’t be surprised to see your beliefs being challenged in the process. As you become aware of the contradictions in certain systems, the false promises, or institutions that are not able to back up platitudes with substance, fact or science. If your ideas are sound and valid, they will be able to stand up against even the most rigorous arguments. This is when you are being asked to strengthen your ideas and concepts about who you are and the world in which you live. This is also when people often get really serious about strategically positioning themselves for the future. This can mean getting that degree, training, experience or certification needed to position yourself in some chosen role or career. But perhaps the most important lesson Saturn is bringing you is about coming to terms with who you are, what you believe to be right and true, and how you fit into the scheme of things. This is all going to be quite useful in a few years down the road when Saturn will then enter Taurus.
Virgo
Mercury enters Pisces on Friday, where it will remain for an extended period of time, due to its retrograde at the end of February (it prolongs it by several weeks). Pisces is a sign that immerses itself in a world of wonder and enchantment, daydreaming, imagining, and wistfully hoping for these dreams to find some sort of purchase. It can also be a sign prone to distraction by and disenchantment with the world at large. There may be reasons for this. Saturn entering Aries on February 13th can imply big changes are afoot. In fact it could be likely that over the next few years your life will become quite different from what it was when the transit first began. For you, Aries is a sign of profound transformation. And being able to step back and meditate on what this might look like for you, could be helpful. In the years that Saturn enters Aries it can even feel like the end of an era for Virgo. Because of this feeling of something impending, there is often an urge to prepare for any and all eventualities. This can include getting your affairs in order. And that can also be financially. You are needing to feel prepared and create some sort of long-term plan. However, this can also be when something that you’ve been working towards for a really long time, finally comes to a grateful conclusion. Time to back out of situations that have simply become too complicated. Doing all this planning, preparing and sorting is a really smart thing to do right now. For within that context you are also coming to realize and define your true value and worth within your community.
Libra
This week Saturn is poised to enter the sign of Aries which is your relationship sign. As if relationships couldn’t be more tested already, what with the recent Uranus station. Alliances are shifting and agreements being questioned. Expect even more to come as we enter the year of the Fire Horse on the 17th where things move suddenly and swiftly. Saturn gets serious about relationships when it enters this department of your life. This is when the rubber meets the road and things get real. Maybe a little too real. Some people may depart as a result, while others become strengthened. Expectations change and responsibilities shift. Saturn is joining Neptune in placing greater emphasis on all of your relationships. This includes your closest partners and allies, as well as all of your one-on-one encounters: the people you go to for advice, counsel and guidance; as well as those who come to you for the same. While Saturn was in Pisces, you have been working hard to perfect your skills, so that you could then offer them in service to others. You may have already gained some sort of recognition for this. And as a result, certain expectations are being made of you, which requires you to step up to the plate and show the world what you are capable of offering. Just don’t expect any help. It often feels as if we are left to our own devices at these times. Saturn is our teacher, and some of the lessons he bestows on us when in the sign of Aries are lessons about self-sufficiency and self-reliance. Just know that this too is part of the plan.
Scorpio
Mars in Aquarius these past few months have been an exercise in stamina and survival. No wonder you are feeling a little frayed at the edges. If you are feeling exhausted, instead of pushing, lean into it. Take things slow. Let some things go. There is only so much gas in the tank. And you are going to need the reserves going forward. Pause in this space before Saturn enters Aries on the 13th. Rest up. Recharge. For it would not be unusual for Scorpios to be working hard during the years that Saturn is in the sign of Aries. This can be a good thing. Such as embarking on a program of self-improvement. That can be physically as in taking up a new health regimen. But this can also be about sitting at the feet of the master or maestro in order to perfect certain skills. There is a purpose to all this. Practice makes perfect, and you will be practicing. Whether that is under the guidance of someone who has already mastered their art, or further honing your skills through on the job training, this is about taking whatever skills you’ve been working on and making them better. However, this must be sustainable. Overwork, poor eating habits, not getting enough sleep and accumulated stress can all take their toll. If ignored, Saturn will literally force you to change habits and routines, in order to take better care of yourself and your body. Accommodating to other’s routines and expectations, can feel tedious at times. But making tweaks to your routines, creating healthier habits and managing your time more efficiently can go far towards creating a more sustainable life and lifestyle, while continuing to be a better version of yourself.
Sagittarius
Saturn leaving Pisces can be something of a relief for Sagittarius. The emotional angst. The worries and stress in your personal environment, home and family can take its toll. But now that Saturn is entering Aries next week on the 13th, you will begin to feel the veil lifting. Saturn brings responsibilities to bear wherever it goes, just shifting the focus as it moves through the houses and signs. If you have children, you may see the focus increased in this department of your life. This could also apply to anyone that you care about and feel a certain responsibility for. But there’s more to this transit for Sagittarius. For instance it can also be a time in which you finally get the funding for a pet project that you would like to see get off the ground. It may mean more work, but it can finally get off the ground. This is also when you want to hone your skills, your art, your vision for the future. And we do so with a sense of purpose. This is when we try to make what we do more personable, more unique, more of a personal statement. This is when we take our fun, our art, our hobbies more seriously. Perhaps even make them more than that. By channeling Saturn in Aries you come to love what you do, or do what you love. Saturn is a planet of commitment and determination. And if your chosen path is truly meant for you, you find yourself willing to jump over hurdles to make that happen. Saturn always makes us work a little harder. But when it is for something that you are passionate about, and love, it doesn’t quite feel like work, and you could find yourself more willing to invest in improving a skill, a gift, your art, your game, your children and even achieving a personal best through your efforts.
Capricorn
Your ruling planet is poised to re-enter Aries. But this is more than merely dipping its toe into the fiery furnace. This is about commitment to a personal vision that has probably been in the works for years. What you learn and/or experience while Saturn is in the sign of Aries, will help you to build a strong foundation from which you will then be able to grow up and out into the world. This is when Capricorn digs down into the firmament and grows deep roots. Aries is your foundation sign. It is also when Saturn enters Aries that you are emerging out into the world in order to meet it on its own terms. You have been doing a lot of personal soul searching and growth these past 7 years, and now you are ready to break ground for that foundation, and commit in a certain direction. Aries is a sign of new beginnings, and this is perfect for launching yourself out into the world, or building something from the bottom up. But one of the first things Saturn asks of us when it is in this angle of the natal or solar chart, is to strategically secure your personal life. Things like home, family, tribe, community, a place where you can grow strong and healthy roots. Making your personal life more secure, more dependable is also a metaphor for taking care of yourself and your inner emotional child. And to believe. This is important. For at this point, when Saturn is in Aries, it is sitting at the very bottom of your natal or solar chart, and there is nowhere for it to go but up. Having those foundations in your life shored up will give you ballast and support, so that you then have the tools to meet whatever challenges may lie ahead. Be like a mountain, and create a firm base and foundation from which to grow. It will make all the difference later on.
Aquarius
Where do we even begin? All of the shifts, the endings, the insecurities and changes, have all been with a purpose in mind. Pluto in your sign aims to transform your life in ways that you can only imagine. Your modern ruling planet, Uranus, stationing this past week was preparing you for what is yet to come. Things will move swiftly with the upcoming Solar Eclipse at the Lunar New Year. Fire Horse years are filled with all sorts of activity. And now that your traditional ruling planet, Saturn, is poised to enter Aries on the 13th, it is adding yet another layer on to this idea of embarking in a New Direction. You have already done a lot of personal work these past 5 years. And you have probably grown in ways that you might not have totally appreciated. And now that Saturn is entering Aries you will continue to work on your own personal self-development, but with a specific focus on your mind, your psychological and mental well-being. Saturn can be serious. And while here, it can almost be too much so! It’s like the world is going to hell in a hand basket and you are sitting there trying to figure out how you can fix it all. You can’t. Saturn and Neptune together in Aries can invoke a certain amount of self-blame. However the lessons of Saturn are not about self-recrimination so much as seeing things exactly the way they are, without pretense or denial. This is important, because with Neptune in Aries as well, it can sometimes be difficult to know what is true, and what is merely an illusion or false hope. Saturn aims to keep it real, because looking at your life and your circumstances as they are, allows you to make more grown up, practical and adult decisions moving forward, which will continue to benefit you for years to come. This is also when you will become more familiar with your own mind, what you know, and what more you might want or need to know. The skills learned or honed at this time, and the knowledge gained, can help to prepare you for the future.
Pisces
For the past several years that Saturn has been in Pisces many of you have been working really hard, and dealing with some very real and hard life lessons. Many of you were indeed carrying a heavy load. Never do we grow quite so much as when Saturn is in our own sign. Saturn is the school of hard knocks. But it is also the means by which we accumulate wisdom. The sort of wisdom that can only be acquired through actual experience. You were also being confronted with who you are, what you want to do in the foreseeable future, and where you see yourself going from here. Chances are you had to make some adjustments, as well as a few self-discoveries along the way. That could include figuring out what you do want, as well as what you don’t. Now that Saturn will be entering Aries on the 13th you could be confronted with a few scenarios. One is about focusing in on the most important priorities that are right in front of you right here, right now. And two, figuring out ways to make what you’ve started sustainable and/or affordable. There can sometimes be concerns with finances when Saturn is in this area of the natal or solar chart. But this is really about investing in yourself, and your own self-worth. The things that are really worth your while in the end. This can involve having to make some hard choices or what feel like long-term investments. But the end goal is ultimately about proving yourself to yourself, and knowing that you can follow through on the promises and commitments you were making to yourself when Saturn was in Pisces. The end result is increased confidence, and valuable lessons that will serve you well for years to come.
