Horoscopes for the Full Moon in Cancer

January 1, 2026 Lauren Coleman

For the Full Moon at 13º Cancer for your sign, or house placement (if you know where 13º of Cancer falls in your natal chart):

Aries

(4th House) Your ruling planet is currently gathering steam in the underworld, plotting and planning out the year ahead. You may not fully implement those plans until later on in the Spring when Mars will once again take its place in the pantheon of planets in the early morning skies, but it will feel like a plan that has been in the works for months, perhaps years to come when all is said and done. The Full Moon in Cancer this weekend is trying to bring that vision into some sort of relief. But in order to actualize that plan for the future, you are being asked to first connect with yourself on some very deep level. Cancer is an emotional sign, where memories swirl up from the past, carrying with them all of their associated feelings. Pay attention to those feelings, for they are trying to clue you in to where and how your sense of security is needing to be shored up. If your ties with family and loved ones are strong, these will carry you over the divide, and into the New Year, where all sorts of challenges will be awaiting you. Aries is going to be working hard in 2026 to make a vision a closer reality. And shoring up your personal life, your home, family, support systems, will make all the difference going forward.

Taurus

(3rd House) Your ruling planet Venus is reenergizing itself with the powerful rays of the Sun in the practical and ambitious sign of Capricorn this coming week. As a result some sort of plan is germinating. And although it may take a while for her to reemerge as a bright star in the evening sky in mid-February, she will bring with her a great deal of momentum and clarity. In order to know what you really want, you may find yourself holding court, asking questions, clarifying your point of view, and asking yourself how you really feel about your emerging plans for the future. At the Full Moon in Cancer, emotions often swim to the surface, making themselves known. Pay attention to those feelings, for they are trying to clue you in to not only what you want, but also what you will need. And so you may not only ask yourself, is my current vision for the year ahead what I really want in my heart of hearts; but will it also be practical and achievable? Many a Taurus will be bringing closure to one part of their lives, even as they are considering a new vision which is now emerging.

Gemini

(2nd House) It will be hard to keep Geminis fully grounded once Uranus enters your sign next Spring. But in the mean time the Full Moon in Cancer is trying to tune you in to some of your most important priorities. There will be a restlessness emerging once Uranus enters Gemini, but this time of year is more focused on pragmatism, and making responsible decisions for the year ahead. Full Moons are often illuminating. And one thing that may become apparent to you are those people and situations that you can rely on, and those that are not quite so dependable. It can also tune you in to what more you are needing to contribute going forward to make up for any deficits. Ask yourself not only what you need, but also what you may want. Having very clearly defined priorities will help you to redress any new goals, depending on what is or is no longer working. By weeding out the dross, and clarifying your priorities, you can then focus on the most important things that will really matter to you in the end.

Cancer

(1st house) 2026 is going to be an important year of change and transformation. Both in the world at large as well as individually. This will be different for each and every one of us. And being able to tune into what that looks like for you will be essential. On Saturday, we have our annual Full Moon in Cancer. In order to find yourself in this changing scheme, you will first need to know who you are. At these Full Moons emotions can swim to the surface. All the more so with the Full Moon in your sign of Cancer where memories swirl up through the cosmic mists of time, carrying with them all of their associated feelings, urges, fears as well as hopes. Pay attention to those feelings, for they are trying to clue you in to some realities about whether or not your emotional needs are being met. This is important, for it can help to clarify some of your most important goals and alliances moving forward, and which ones you will want to put the most effort into over the year ahead. 2026 is bound to be an interesting year, and having that clarity will help you to make the right choices at the right times.

Leo

(12th House) As we leave the old year behind, many of us are being asked to look in the rear view mirror, in order to take with us only the best of the year that was. We do this in order to bring that which truly matters, leaving the dross, any losses, any regrets behind. It helps to clean the slate, so that we will then be ready to create some sort of achievable plan for the future. The Full Moon in Cancer this weekend allows us the opportunity to gain the right sort of focus and perspective to do this good work. Memories swim to the surface with the Full Moon in Cancer, carrying with them all of their associated feelings. Pay attention to those feelings for they are tuning you in to the realities of what you have been lacking, and will be needing more of, as you venture into the year ahead. This Moon is very much about releasing what you no longer want or need to carry. But it is also about looking forward with the sort of wistful hope and anticipation that Leo is known for, to the possibilities that will be lying in store for you in the future.

Virgo

(11th House) You do not need to look for miracles. They are there all around you. All you have to do is tune in to them, and they will find you. Miracles come in all sorts of guises. And sometimes just by opening yourself up to possibility, and/or having that conversation at the right time and in the right place, can then bring that sudden moment of illumination. Like an awakening, or a flash of insight, the Full Moon has this capacity to open up your eyes, and show you what you were looking for all along. Full Moons are often revelatory. Like a light shining over the ceremonies, this Full Wolf Moon on January 3rd is daring you to align yourself with your hopes and dreams. And that includes all those hopes and dreams that you had allowed to collect dust as they lay up on a shelf, nearly forgotten. These too can be given a miraculous revival. First you have to remember that they were there. And then you just have to have a little faith, insight and patience. And maybe a little fertilizer. Whatever it takes. The planetary gods are trying to make you aware of the possibility and magic that awaits you.

Libra

(10th House) Although no longer visible in the night sky, your ruling planet Venus is currently readying herself for the work that she is busily organizing from behind the scenes. In mid-February she will reemerge from out of the rays of the Sun as a brilliant evening star. But until that time she is busying herself with all sorts of plans for the year ahead. In some way the Full Moon in Cancer on Saturday will give you something of a glimpse of that future. Things can open up with the Full Wolf Moon, illuminating a path that is unfolding in front of you. Within the light of the Moon you may also see the results of choices made in the past that have impacted your status, reputation and life’s work. One of the first things the Moon will ask, is how you are feeling about all that? And how well are you feeling about your most recent accomplishments and achievements? Both consequences and confirmation can arise with this Moon. Both can help to reaffirm and get you on track with your true destiny. If you are happy with what you are seeing, then this will help give you the drive, energy and passion to further the path that you are already on. If there are changes that you would like to make, then the Full Moon can help to affirm that as well. Most of all, ask yourself how you are feeling about all this. If it feels right for you, then you know you are likely to be on track.

Scorpio

(9th House) Since mid-November your ruling planet Mars has been on hiatus from the night sky, lost within the rays of the Sun and now gathering all of that solar energy into itself as it slips behind the

Sun for its superior conjunction. It will eventually reappear as a morning planet in early March, but until then Mars will be busy organizing, planning and preparing for what lies ahead. In the process it is also motivating you to get busy creating some sort of achievable plan for the future. The Full Moon in Cancer aims to give you something of an overview and preview of what that might look like for you. What are you needing to still accomplish? What do you need to do to be ready? The Cancer Full Moon allows you to get some sort of perspective by looking back at all that you have accomplished, so that you have a better idea of where you see yourself going from here. Like a crescendo, the Full Moon in Cancer is trying to get you into alignment with some sort of plan, and then asking you how you feel about that. Then taking the momentum of the now reenergized Mars to motivate you, allow it to take you where you need to go.

Sagittarius

(8th House) The Full Moon in Cancer is a very emotional sign. Somewhat nostalgic it can take you deep into the past. A past filled not only with memories but deeply embedded feelings as well. One thing that we can be certain of in life, is that everything is subject to change. As part of us may nostalgically hold to a past that will no longer be, there is also the hope that we can grow and improve our lot. As all those feelings, memories and deep-seated urges rise to the surface, pay attention. Full Moons can be so revealing! That habit that has taken over. Those cravings and urges, and tendencies that are taking the helm. Are they truly serving if you just ignore them? Or might there be more productive ways to invest your valuable, time, money and resources, in order to take greater control over your own life and destiny? Perhaps in a way that will ultimately increase your confidence. In what ways might you want to invest in yourself this coming year, in order to be a more secure, healthier, happier, and more confident version of yourself?

Capricorn

(7th House) In order to find ourselves in the scheme of things, we need to know who we are. At the Full Moon emotions can swim to the surface. All the more so with the Full Moon in emotional Cancer where memories swirl up through the cosmic mists of time, carrying with them all of their associated feelings, memories and urges. The Full Moon in Cancer this weekend is shining a light on you, by mirroring certain traits through others. In what ways are others annoying or upsetting you? Pay attention to those feelings that are arising, for they are trying to clue you in to some realities about whether or not your needs are being met in your current relationships, and whether or not you are meeting the needs of others. The Full Moon in Cancer can and will bring certain relationships to some sort of crescendo, and that which you may have been ignoring, can no longer be tolerated. For those whose birthday falls on or around the Full Moon on January 3rd, the new beginning implied by your birthday may require you to first tie up some loose ends from the past. Something may need to end in order for you to make a new start this year. This can also be a good thing, like ending a dry spell in your life that can open up all sorts of new doors. You are being asked to free yourself up, in order to be able to live a truer, healthier and more authentic life and lifestyle over the year ahead.

Aquarius

(6th House) Full Moons can be like culminations, bringing all of our efforts to some sort of ultimate crescendo. This could be due to recent actions over the past 6 months, but it can also be due to something seeded a long time ago. Things are brought to a conclusion. Finished and put to bed. It is often customary to do a lot of cleaning just before the New Year. This way you don’t bring the soiled remnants of the previous year with you into the year to come. In this way we clear things out in order to make room for better things to take their place. Cleaning out the cupboards of your life and in your environment, can be a metaphor for releasing what you no longer need, fixing what had become broken, and healing the wounds of the past. You are readying yourself for the New Year to come. By now, many an Aquarius is ready for something new to make its way into your life. And even if you don’t think you need it right now, and even if you aren’t looking for it, know that it just may find you any way.

Pisces

(5th House) The Full Moons in Cancer can often bring its own element of emotional excitement. A time when we wear our hearts on our sleeves, and laugh/cry our way into the New Year. With your ruling planet Jupiter also in the watery sign of Cancer these past 6 months you’ve been busy aligning yourself with what might seem a larger vision for the future. What might that vision look like? And how can you make it more of an achievable reality? Perhaps the Full Moon can shed some light on this. With both Saturn and Neptune soon to leave your sign, many a Pisces will be feeling like a huge weight is being lifted off their shoulders. Full Moons are often times in which we see the results of decisions made in the past. The results can be illuminating. And this Super Full Wolf Moon in Cancer brings enough light to see the many roads unfolding before you. Therefore as you stand here at the beginning of 2026, and see the various paths that lie ahead, see if one path resonates more than the others. Should you stick with the path that you are already on and know so well? Or is there an alternate path that will not only allow you to grow, but also bring you greater security and reliability?
