October 30th ~ November 6th

Grandfather, Look at our brokenness. We know that in all creation Only the human family Has strayed from the Sacred Way. We know that we are the ones who are divided And we are the ones Who must come back together To walk in the Sacred Way. Grandfather, Sacred One, Teach us love, compassion, and honor That we may heal the earth and heal each other. ~ Ojibway prayer (Prayers for Healing edited by Maggie Oman)
As Venus wends her way back through the late degrees of Libra something remarkable is now happening. As soon as she entered Libra last weekend, she was perfecting a trine to the North Node at 27º Aquarius. This becomes exact on the 30th of October, luring us, almost inexorably, in a direction that not only brings a correction and the remedies for what ails us. She is also preparing the way in order for us to fulfill our destiny. This sensitive transit is extended all the way through to the end of November, at which point Venus will be direct again and will be moving back to Scorpio again.
Venus as Persephone is quietly arising from the underworld, first making a dim appearance as a morning star just before sunrise. By November 7th you will see Venus quite clearly about one hour before sunrise close to the Balsamic (Crescent) Moon.
Bringing to the surface with her from her foray into the underworld are a sundry of things. Things that were hidden. Things that were not seen. Things that we feared But also hidden beneath the surface are also found great gems of magnificent promise and beauty. And it is these that she will be dispersing like candy, and the much needed remedies we are seeking. This all commences as we approach All Hallow’s Eve (Samhain), the final celebration of the harvests and the transition into the Winter months ahead, here in the Northern Hemisphere.
For Venus is not only being guided by the North Node like a lodestar shining before her, but by both Jupiter, strong and magnificent at the South Node in Leo, and the great centaur Chiron, the bearer of remedies. Chiron in the last degrees of Aries is not only trine Jupiter, but sextile the North Node and directly opposite Venus. This is one of those magical configurations, normally transient and fleeting, but which has become extended, and thereby strengthened due to the upcoming station of Venus in mid-November at 22º Libra 52’.
This will all be joined by Mars (a time for righteous action) in mid-November, when an exact conjunction between Mars, Jupiter and the South Node in Leo is perfected shortly after Mercury and Venus station, ending their retrogrades.
Libra is a sign of fairness, of justice. It is a sign of equilibrium, in which Venus aims to restore the balance, right wrongs, and restore harmony. This can be in the body and mind. In our relationships as well as our daily lives. It can also be seen in the world at large. Like a panacea for that which ails us, Venus emerges from the underworld offering us gifts, remedies, and panaceas.
This is the sort of configuration that will bring certain individuals together while parting others. It does so in order for us to find our place in the world. This may mean having to leave those situations, people or things that which rather than bring healing only brings brokenness, and false lights that distract us, make false promises and lead us astray. But one thing that could become apparent is that we cannot do this without each other.
If civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships ~ the ability of all peoples, of all kinds, to live together, in the same world at peace. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
What needs adjusting
At the end of August Jupiter in Leo and Saturn in Aries made a strong fiery trine. Because they were in the same element of fire, and the same degrees of their signs, the energy between them was flowing seamlessly. This allowed us to begin to visualize a path unfolding before us. Still in its beginning stages, but a beginning nonetheless.
Jupiter represents our big vision for the future. It invites us to think in terms of potential, of vast horizons, growth and possibility. Jupiter in Leo is large. In this sign we are asked to believe in our own potential, and to more fully celebrate who we are capable of becoming, and then to share that joy of discovery with one another. Saturn has the capability of bringing that vision to fulfillment. But there is a catch. As there often is with Saturn.
Back in August, as it still is now, Saturn was retrograde. And oftentimes plans formulated, or begun when Saturn is in its retrograde phase could prove to be more involved than originally thought. Saturn in Aries is the General of the Army. He gathers the forces together. He maps out the plan, organizes the troops and creates a time line to be followed. Because the energy between Jupiter’s Vision and Saturn’s proactive stance were supporting one another, this was marking a time for us to create some sort of realistic and achievable plan. Jupiter represents the vision, and Saturn supplies the tools and the ways and means to make that vision possible. However when Saturn is in its retrograde phase, the ways and means are riddled with obstacles, resistance and delays.
And there is no pushing Saturn. This doesn’t mean that you can’t be productive. But rather than thinking large, it is much easier to focus on smaller goals, the details, that will eventually bring you closer to the larger goal. Fighting a retrograde Saturn can be very difficult. The more you push, the more resistance you will meet.
Until Saturn is direct again in December, do expect to have difficulty striking a balance between what you want to do, and what you need to do. All the more so now that Jupiter and Saturn, still in their fire signs, are forming a minor aspect known as a 135º sesquiquadrate (sesquare). This is a time of correction before we can then proceed with the larger plan. There will be another sesquare on January 22nd. Because both Jupiter and Saturn are still in the same element, they are both on the same page, but needing to adjust the plan, and the ways and means to lead you to the fruition of your goals. Before all is said and done, Jupiter and Saturn will make two favorable trines in 2027 (April 3rd and July 11th), so we have plenty of time to perfect the plan.
One of the things that we are all learning this Fall, especially now that Venus has returned to Libra, is that sometimes we need to ask for help, and/or need the cooperation and assistance of others to achieve our goals.
So if you are feeling stuck, or like you cannot proceed, this is a good week to take some sort of inventory:
If you cannot proceed with your goals right now, what small goals can you achieve in the mean time that will make the process simpler?
What might you need to give up or cut back on in order to do this?
Who are the helpers that you need, or might want, to reach out to when the time is more agreeable?
Once Saturn stations direct again on December 10th, you could be impressed at the ways things are finally beginning to proceed with less resistance, either internally or externally.
Use the retrograde phases of Mercury and Venus which last until mid-November to perfect your plans. Review. Modify. Go over the details with a fine toothed comb. Get advice. Go to experts. Ask for help if necessary. If something seems too big or overwhelming. Pare it down for now, or do it in stages. If you meet with resistance or delays, honor them.
One thing that you will come to realize by January is how important it is to believe in yourself and your vision. And just because a few delays or obstacles may get in the way, there is no reason to give up on your Big Vision and Big Hopes for the future.
Lastly, on Wednesday, November 4th, Mercury makes its inferior conjunction to the Sun. This is Mercury’s New Moon, when Mercury passes between the Earth and the Sun. Similar to when Venus entered the Solar throne room on October 23rd, it is Mercury’s turn to be liege for a day. Note, that whatever the prevailing thoughts are during this period are, are going to set the tone for the next 4 months of the Mercury synodic cycle. So we might all want to ask ourselves over the next week:
What sorts of thoughts do you wish to see your mind filled with over the next 4 months?
What qualities of the mind are you wanting to improve, or more fully develop? Greater Focus? Deeper perceptions? Better memory?
Is there something that you might wish to learn more about? Or that you are curious about?
Are there new and better habits or routines that you would like to establish over the next 4 months?
What truths are you needing to see? And what truths are you wanting to learn?
What does it mean to have the courage of your voice? And what is the best way to use it?
