New Moon in Aries Horoscopes: April 17th thru the 24th

April 16, 2026 Lauren Coleman

Aries

(1st House) I don’t know about you guys but I’m feeling totally energized with this huge stellium of planets in Aries. And that’s even with Saturn right on my Sun. All of this free-flowing fire is kind of like Springtime, new shoes and a very potent latte combined into one. What could possibly go wrong when you have all this fire at your back? Impatience and impulse control can be an issue. But New Moons, such as the one we are having this Friday, are times of new beginnings. And this is all the more so when it falls in your own sign. Just think of how strong the momentum is for you now that we have this abundance of planets in Aries driving that New Moon from behind. This is not just about new beginnings. This is about New Resolutions, with a renewed sense of self-awareness about who you are and what is best for you. And that is true even in the face of any resistance or obstacles currently being strewn in your path. Aries aims to operate at their personal best at all times, and this is a time to focus on those things that will maximize your well-being and ability to function. Whether that is a new health regimen, or training program, when you are able to perform at your maximum, then you are also better able to show up for others. This New Moon will be particularly relevant for those born in the last few days or degrees of Aries: April 15-19th or who have 25-29º of Aries Rising. Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step. ~ M.L.K., jr.

Taurus

(12th House) You may wonder why you are feeling so positive, hopeful and inspired with the New Moon in Aries. There is something incredibly healing, cleansing and purifying all at the same time. In order to accelerate the process you might want to do some serious crystal work, or to clear out all the inner channels that have become clouded or over congested. It’s time to make room for new seeds of inspiration to take root and grow. One way to facilitate the process is by tackling any lingering Spring cleaning projects, or if you live down under, getting your home and provisions ready for the Winter months ahead. By removing excess and clutter in your environment, you are also symbolically clearing out the excess and clutter within your own mind. With this abundance of planetary activity in Aries this week, clear it all our and then release it out into the universe to be recycled from whence it came. Your ruling planet Venus has been cultivating certain seeds already planted. She’s been feeding and watering them well. But don’t be surprised if you make a sudden decisions by the end of this week when Venus makes an exact conjunction to Uranus in the last degree of your sign. At that point it genuinely feels like whatever work you do to clear the space, is making room for new seeds to have space to grow. The secret to living the life of your dreams is to start living the life of your dreams today, in every little way you possibly can. ~ Mike Dooley

Gemini

(11th House) Uncensored and unapologetic, when Mercury is in Aries we say what we mean and we mean what we say. Combined with the New Moon on Friday, Mercury gives you the courage of your voice, and heralds an opportunity to assert your ideas, and speak up if you have something important to say. There is no shyness about Mercury being in Aries. The New Moon is asking us to do something. To take the initiative, and to put ideas and words into action. This is the New Moon that connects you to the collective and the growing trends in society. And with the New Moon in Aries we should all pay attention to the power of our words and what we do and say in this regard. Words can heal, but they can also wound. But when we speak from the heart, and with conviction, we can also use that voice for the greater good of a much larger whole that we are all connecting with. The New Moon in Aries is also your wishing Moon, therefore dare to send all of your good wishes out into the world, in order to make your dreams a closer and more achievable, reality. Throw your dreams into space like a kite, and you do not know what it may bring back, a new life, a new friend, a new love, a new country. ~ Anais Nin

Cancer

(10th House) The New Moon in Aries is a time of New beginnings each year. And with an abundance of planetary activity in the sign of Aries this week, anything started new will be invested with energy, enthusiasm and a gallon of super-charged courage. Having Chiron in Aries these past 8 years could have found you working through any lingering insecurities. But with the New Moon in Aries on Friday cast those doubts aside and embrace all that you are, including what you may be. If you are able to channel even a small amount of the potential contained within this Moon, you will be able to achieve far more that you could even possibly imagine. Look for innovative ways to promote yourself and what you do. Be seen. Let the world know that you are there. Invest yourself with the courage to believe in who you are and what you are capable of achieving. The New Moon in Aries is always a good moon for Cancer to create a plan, set new goals, reinvent your brand and what you do, or to instill everything you do with a new surge of vital energy. Begin somewhere; you cannot build a reputation on what you intend to do. ~ Liz Smith

Leo

(9th House) Since Chiron first entered Aries in 2018 it has been challenging everything that you had ever believed to be true. That can include any religious or spiritual beliefs, or cherished ideals that you would have been willing to put your back up against the wall for. One thing you may have learned in this process is that when you are willing to challenge your own dogmas, that it can open up a whole new world of possibility. This can happen when you travel to another environment, where you are allowed to see things with a fresh new perspective. But with Chiron in Aries you didn’t need to go anywhere to achieve that, for you were being given permission to see the world through a whole new lens. Perhaps one that you had never considered before. The New Moon in Aries is now encouraging you to challenge yourself even further: pursue that lingering interest that you’ve been wanting to learn more about; embark on a new adventure; be willing to explore the possible. Use the New Moon in Aries to set the intention to release all fears concerning initiating a new beginning or starting a new path. A good affirmation for the New Moon might be: May I be filled with the joy and enthusiasm of discovery and possibility.

Virgo

(8th House) When Mercury is in Aries as it is now, it brings you the courage to use your voice, and your words, to say what you mean and mean what you say. And to even do so with the intention to make some sort of profound difference both in your own life and the lives of others. This can include defending, and speaking up for those that are voiceless, or who cannot speak for themselves. With Mercury conjunct both Mars and Saturn in Aries, and a sextile to Pluto, it can bring a strong desire to get to the bottom of things, to reveal the truth to others, and to speak about those things we would normally prefer to ignore, or hope would just go away on their own. Mercury in this guise is the stalwart investigator and truth teller and revealer. And that is true even if some of those truths are hard to talk about. Nothing is hidden long, and you cannot escape the truth when Mercury joins forces with this planetary trio. The New Moon on Friday is conjunct Chiron, and Chiron’s theme of acceptance is not just about accepting what we like, but also accepting and even embracing what we consider to be shameful, or something to be hidden away. Use the New Moon to shine a light on the darkness, and transform problems through a willingness to confront those hard truths with honesty and courage. And maybe even a bit of humor. If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance. ~ George Bernard Shaw

Libra

(7th House) The New Moon on Friday is closely conjunct Chiron, and with the wise centaur, acceptance is key. No one is perfect. And thank goodness. Can you even imagine what the world would be like if we were all perfectly the same? So why would we want to change anyone? Why would we even try? It’s all the imperfections that make people all that much more interesting, and all that much more valuable. Venus conjunct Uranus at the very end of Taurus this week totally agrees! It’s all the differences that fill in each other’s pieces. And the New Moon in Aries is reminding you of the importance of finding just those people who can fill in those pieces and spaces of your life. If you are needing a new consultant, advisor, healer, therapist or teacher, this is the New Moon to work with. Once you have found that person or people who motivate you to do more, to be more, and who has your back no matter what, you will know that you have found your people. They know about injuries, about wounds and imperfection. And they have the tools to fix them. Use the New Moon in Aries to set the intention to attract the best people/healers/teachers/guides capable of filling in the missing pieces and leading you where you need to go. May love fill your heart, compassion guide your mind, faith rule your soul... ~ Paulo Coelho

Scorpio

(6th House) Some wounds can be healed, while others simply can not. The New Moon on Friday conjunct Chiron in Aries, is reminding us of his allegory, in which the wise centaur had been mistakenly wounded by a poisonous arrow. Because he was immortal he did not die, but he also was never quite able to heal himself of the wound. After wandering the world over, he did not find a cure, but he did find a remedy. And that remedy was embodied in acceptance. Therefore do not focus on that which you do not have any control over, but do pay attention to those things that you can do something about. This powerful New Moon in Aries is an excellent time to create initiatives that will not only support your health, but your over all well-being. And it’s even more than that! For what you have been learning over the past 8 years that Chiron has been in Aries has armed you with a litany of information and valuable tools. Tools that are even capable of reinventing your life all over again. And these are not only valuable for your own renewal and survival, but also anyone else who happens to come strolling into your life. Whether that be the down-trodden, the ill-forsaken, Aunt Mary, or the neighbor down the street, everyone can benefit from your own experiences. A wise man should consider that health is the greatest of blessings. ~ Hippocrates

Sagittarius

(5th House) You might want to ask yourself, what is holding you back? What is standing in the way? Is it the judgment of others that you fear? Since when has that stopped you in the past? Let it out. Even if it means standing on the corner and singing your heart out. You need a medium through which to express the accumulated angst of all the ages in one meaningful, cathartic, and soulful howl. Find your instrument and let it wail from the depths of your soul. What comes out will not only heal your soul, but will heal others as well. We’re all needing to hear that cathartic wail in order to heal our own souls. The New Moon in Aries is just the time to initiate a new hobby that totally engrosses you; to enter a competition that makes you feel motivated again; to move, sing, dance, or do something in the company of others that makes you feel alive. Let it wail, and before you know it you will have inspired a whole audience of followers who are doing the same. Faeries come and take me out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top of the disheveled tide, And dance upon the mountains like a flame. ~ William Butler Yeats

Capricorn

(4th House) When you explore where you come from, it can fill in so many pieces of information that some how got lost in the process. But when you connect with your roots, with the ancestors, you can discover patterns that were previously buried and ignored. With the New Moon in Aries on Friday, backed up by an abundance of planets also in Aries, and conjunct the healer Chiron, it aims to shine a light on the past. And what is being released can be so enlightening. Even the things that had been swept under the rug, perhaps for ages and even lifetimes are being illuminated. Healing comes when we come to accept all of us. The good, the bad and even the ugly. For interlaced with any shames, regrets or sorrows, are also all the gifts that you could not or would not have had or inherited if not for these very same people and their life experiences. Use the New Moon in Aries to circle the wagons, create your own roots. Roots that are healthy, conscious and have ballast. Like a chick emerging from its egg, you are being asked to establish yourself in the world in a new and better way. Find that place that brings you that feeling of belonging, and invest it with a new found sense of your own self. Return home to your heart, so you can return home to yourself. ~ Jessica Besser

Aquarius

(3rd House) The New Moon in Aries on Friday, is backed up by a planetary league all piled up together in the sign of Aries. Both inspiring and baffling, all of this energy is meant for some sort of New Beginning in our lives. Use the New Moon in Aries to motivate yourself, even if and when you are filled with exhaustion at the mere thought of doing so. All this energy can also be overwhelming and exhausting. To much news. Too much information all at once. Know also, with the Moon closely conjunct Chiron, that words can heal, but they can also wound. It’s all in the deliver as well as the message. Both good news and bad news are being generated with the New Moon. But at the very least at least you will have some greater clarity. But as words have the capacity to both wound and heal, take care to pause and choose your words well. Aries can be a very impulsive and outspoken sign. And this is especially true if you have something important to say. But New Moons are all about new beginnings, and all the more so in the sign of Aries. For Aquarius this is a good moon to start a new class, learn something new, become informed on a specific subject and explore new venues in the area. A good affirmation for this Moon might be: I embrace and am open to the possibility of new, exciting, and potentially mind-blowing possibilities.

Pisces

(2nd House) With such an abundance of planets in the motivating sign of Aries, the New Moon on Friday can be just the sort of catalyst that is needed to get things moving in the right direction. For contained within the New Moon in Aries is the promise and hope of what is yet to come. But also what we can or cannot afford. With Chiron traveling in Aries these past 8 years, you’ve been considering your relationship with what you do or do not have, and what you do or do not have to offer. The lessons of Chiron may not be so much about what you do or do not have, about how much you do or do not make, so much as about the ways in which you value yourself, who you are, what you represent, and what you do. The New Moon in Aries is a time of year in which you are coming to terms with who and what you truly value most. And that includes how well you value yourself. This can be a good moon to create a business plan, to set financial goals, and to look for ways to be more financially independent. But it is also a good moon to re-prioritize those things that are most meaningful to you. Trying to be happy by accumulating possessions is like trying to satisfy hunger by taping sandwiches all over your body. ~ George Carlin
