Horoscopes for the New Moon in Scorpio

November 5, 2026 Lauren Coleman

For the New Moon at 17º  of Scorpio, check out your natal Sun sign and Rising sign, and/or the natal house where 17ª of Scorpio falls in your natal chart, (if you know it):

Aries

(8th House) You can almost get that feeling of standing on the threshold of some major renovation of your life, and perhaps even a little boldly so. The New Moon on Monday (or Sunday) is asking you to willingly release those things that are taking up too much room, in order to make room for that new beginning to take root. Where are you needing a reboot. The sort of reboot that will invest your life with greater hope for the future, and restore joy into your life? It may take a bit of courage and honesty and determination to make that happen. Is there some area of your life that is in need of repair? Something that maybe you’ve been kicking down the road and avoiding? And is there something that you can now do about it? A good intention for Aries with the Scorpio New Moon might be: I am powerful and strong, and capable of overcoming even the most daunting of challenges. Even in the face of extraordinary challenges and changes, Aries will still remain undaunted. Tell yourself that you’ve got this. Then go out there and show them how this is done. Some initiatives for the New Moon in Scorpio could be: replacing self-defeating behaviors and habits, with new and better ones; committing to a program of rehabilitation, or renewal; taking on a project to renovate or rebuild; paying off old debts; freeing yourself up from old agreements or obligations that are no longer serving you, and might even be preventing you from growing. Getting rid of subscriptions you no longer need or use. Recycle, re-use and repurpose.

Taurus

(7th House) The New Moon in Scorpio is significant to Taurus because it serves as something of a turning point in the year. This is when you can look back on the previous 6 months and see what you have accomplished, and what more you might want to commit to over the next 6 months. This particular New Moon also has something of a healing quality about it, that seems to make all the stress of the past several weeks worth it. Out of the stress of the doing, can be found the peace of the done. This is also when we tend to acknowledge the other people in our lives. This can bring a desire for even deeper commitment or renewal. Or it can be a time of adjustment. A good intention to make with the New Moon on Monday (or Sunday) might be: May I be led to realize those who support and walk with me on this path. But perhaps one of the most significant benefits of the New Moon in Scorpio can be sort of insights that can be received when you are willing to look at things from another person’s perspective. This is a good week to therefore: seek some sort of advice or guidance from someone who inspires you, and/or can help you to make positive changes in your life; committing or re-committing to a partnership; or meeting new people who share a commonality of perception; trying something new in the company of others that will motivate you in a positive and life-affirming way.

Gemini

(6th House) Mercury in Scorpio is gradually slowing down for its direct station next week. Meanwhile there are positive opportunities here that can bring some much needed closure and release. It is important to do this in order to create the space that will then allow all sorts of new avenues for growth to come in. In order to do this well, some sort of profound change is occurring. A good affirmation for the New Moon on Monday (Sunday) might be: I welcome and accept my current path for where it is presently bringing me, knowing that this is precisely where I need to be. This New Moon, albeit intense in the sign of Scorpio, can also be a little mystifying, requiring the faith that there is indeed some significant plan afoot. Even if you cannot yet see what that is. Be prepared to change your mind or perspective as a result. Some things the New Moon might be good for: reorganizing your environment and work space to allow you to work more efficiently; invest your daily routines with a sense of renewal and purpose. Make a commitment to change up your routines, address a habit, or begin a new health, diet or exercise regimen; even small changes can have a remarkable impact on your long-term health and well-being, and the things that support that health, when the New Moon is in Scorpio.

Cancer

(5th House) Whatever major choices you’ve been pondering, or challenges you may be taking on, know that a sense of self-empowerment arises when you commit to a path that you know is right for you. Use the New Moon in Scorpio on Monday (Sunday)  to discover what it might mean for you to have more joy in your life. Begin by rediscovering your passions, and being willing to open your heart in some compelling and meaningful way. Reacquaint yourself with your own inner child, and look for ways to recapture the sort of wonder and imagination that allows you to look at the world through a brighter and more positive lens. A good intention for this New Moon might be: I want to see myself bringing back wonder and the joy of inspiration into my life. The New Moon is trying to inspire you to find some form of personal expression that will allow the world to see what is truly unique and special about yourself. Something that you thoroughly relate to and identify with, as well as allowing you to shine. This is a good moon to: Learn or try something new, fun and at the very least entertaining; Go out on a date; Take the children out on a discovery mission; revisit an old hobby that you once loved so well; return to a calling; or commit to a new hobby or pastime that is calling you in some deep and wonderful way.

Leo

(4th House) The New Moon on Monday is a Moon of wondrous realizations, and opportunities for deepening connections with loved ones and family. Give yourself permission to change your perspective along with your mind, for there’s no telling where this Moon can bring you. This could be a good Moon for plotting out the future. But before you do so, ask yourself what needs releasing before you can proceed. And remind yourself of how far you have come up until this point. Hold on to the essence of what once was, but be willing to let go of that which is no longer serving you. By doing so, you allow better things to come in and begin to take root. It is time to move on and make some sort of refresh. Out of the ashes of the past, a new beginning can be born. A good affirmation for this New Moon might be: I want to see myself releasing those things that no longer serve the person I am becoming. This will then allow you to plant the seeds that are necessary for the future that is still in the process of unfolding. The New Moon in Scorpio is a good Moon for: Any repairs, renovations, or changes needed in the home; Sprucing things up, clearing out the cobwebs and clutter of your environment; unloading any old baggage that you’ve been carrying. If you’ve been wanting to make a move, or any improvements at home; including repairing any rifts within the family, this is a good moon to work with.

Virgo

(3rd House) You can just feel the changing tides shifting beneath your very feet. It can be like that when your ruling planet Mercury is in its retrograde phase. The New Moon shines a light on the fact that some of those shifts can be deeply healing and transformational. New Moons are about new beginnings, but the retrograde Mercury is a reminder that in order to make those new beginnings, you are going to have tie up the loose ends of the past, or what remains of it. Just know that if you keep trying to kick that can down the road, it will only continue to take up residence within your mind. Use the New Moon on Monday to sort out the chaff from the wheat, tie up those loose ends once and for, and put to rest what needs to be put to rest. A good affirmation for the New Moon might be this advice from Eleanor Roosevelt: “Those years, weeks, hours, are the sands in the glass running swiftly away… To use them to the hilt, making them count for something, is the beginning of wisdom.” Use the New Moon to: Organize your mind; create a plan; Organize your schedule, your daily life and your routines; Commit to a new course of study; Learn something new; Be willing to look at a problem from another perspective; Listen to a new podcast; Engage in compelling discussions on matters that are important to you. Even ordinary everyday conversations, what you hear, what you read, could prove to be all that much more compelling than usual this Scorpio season.

Libra

(2nd House) One thing the New Moon in Scorpio on Monday might be showing you, are the areas of your life that you have been neglecting. Perhaps at the expense of other obligations. Where have you been over-spending, or over-compensating? And in what ways can you better balance the books? Some things are well worth the investment. Some things not so much. Knowing the difference can make all the difference moving forward. Prioritizing what is needed most right now may require you to put some other things aside. But know that it will be worth it in the end. Make the affirmation with the New Moon on Monday to: Embrace and honor the sacred cycle of reciprocity; giving without expectation of reward; while also gratefully receiving from others. And if there are any changes to be made within the ebb and flow of the cycle of giving and receiving, this is the Moon to work with. Even if that means having to set better boundaries and know when you need to say No More. Use the New Moon in Scorpio to: sort out your priorities; balance your budget; and get a clearer picture of what is needed for the foreseeable future; Make necessary adjustments to any recent changes, or changes that you are needing to make; Look to see if there are more efficient ways of sorting out your obligations; increasing your self-worth; paying down the bills, and bolstering up your self-confidence. Note that even small changes in this weather can have remarkable results in the long run.

Scorpio

(1st House) Each year at the New Moon in Scorpio you are given an opportunity for self-renewal. It is also a prime time to begin new initiatives, as needed. This will be true for all Scorpios, but this Moon will be especially strong for those Scorpios born between the 6th and 12th of November, or who have 14-20º of Scorpio Rising. Transformative and empowering, the New Moon in Scorpio is asking you to think in terms of making deeper commitments to those people, places and things that support your sense of self and your own well-being. This can include committing to a new wellness plan, a program aimed towards self-improvement, or any other initiative that can and will improve your life. Use the New Moon on Monday to make the affirmation that: I am profound and have depths of potential as yet unrealized. It would not be unusual to want to make certain changes in your life that will give you the freedom to reinvent your life all over again, or to renew a commitment for the sole purpose of self-renewal. Use the New Moon in Scorpio to: Reacquaint yourself with yourself; revisit an old hobby or something you once loved so well. Release what you no longer need, in order to go in a new and better direction. Make yourself, your health and your well-being a priority; This is not only about making a statement about who you are now, but also who you are becoming.

Sagittarius

(12th House) Your ruling planet, Jupiter is closing in on its trine to the centaur, Chiron, bringing promises of healing and guidance on the next leg of your journey. But in order to accomplish this, there are still some things that are needing closure and completion. There is an incredible amount of potential here, which is further enforced by the New Moon on Monday, which is showing what is most needing to be released and let go of. A good intention for this Moon might be: I want to easily see myself letting go of the past in order to prepare the way for a grand new beginning that is yet to come. This is often a time of year in which Sagittarius retires from the hubbub of the world in order to go within and reflect on the year that was. This also allows you to recoup your energy in preparation for the season ahead. In the mean time use the New moon in Scorpio to: sort out the pieces of your life; Tie up any loose ends, clear out the clutter that has been taking up too much space in your mind and environment. Clear out the catacombs. This is a month of completion. But it is also a month for reflection. Doing this good work will make room for new possibilities to be able to take root both in mind and actuality. Use the discrimination of the New Moon in Scorpio to sort through any new ideas or initiatives, in order to know which of these you will most want to be focusing on over the months ahead.

Capricorn

(11th House) There have likely been times in years past in which you found yourself struggling against forces over which it seemed you had little control. The hands of fate seemed to be taking over your life at times. However, the New Moon in Scorpio on Monday is trying to show you the ways in which you have learned how powerful you truly are and can be. As a result of all the growth over years past, you probably have also found that some of your dreams and aspirations for the future have also evolved in order to accommodate the person that you now are.The New Moon in Scorpio is your wishing moon. And this year it is asking you to make yet one more update. For the hopes and wishes of your former self may no longer be relevant for who you are now. Therefore be clear with yourself about who you are and what your most genuine self wants and expects from your future life and aspirations. Use the New Moon on Monday to make the affirmation that: When I embrace my own power, I become an instrument for positive change in the world and in my own life. Then on the New Moon take pen in hand, and think of the myriad dreams, hopes and wishes that you might wish to accomplish this year. Make them positive. Make them powerful. Then cast them out into the universe, knowing that when the causes and conditions arise, you will be ready.

Aquarius

(10th House) The New Moon in Scorpio each year presents opportunities to revisit your goals for the future. From out of the hidden shadows of the New Moon in Scorpio you are being asked to embrace your own power. This may seem contradictory. For often when Pluto travels in one’s own sign, as it now is, the first things we become aware of are the things we don’t have any power over. But ultimately this can and will be about recognizing and owning your own capacity to be able to totally transform your life in your own image. And the New Moon in Scorpio is asking you to think in terms of what that might look like for you. There are tremendous forces for both healing and guidance over the next few months. Therefore set the affirmation with the New Moon on Monday that: Out of the ashes of what once was, I have the ability to create a better and more meaningful future. The New Moon in Scorpio is the Moon that Aquarius uses to gaze into the future, to commit to new goals, and consider what opportunities exist, and the direction you see yourself heading. This is a Moon of future possibilities. Use the New Moon to: Create a plan for the future; Set goals that you would like to see yourself achieving this year. And consider the sorts of changes or transformations in your life that you might like to see yourself making in the future.

Pisces

(9th House) The New Moon in Scorpio on Monday is trying to point you towards the fulfillment of your true potential. This can happen by opening up your perspective. Perhaps just enough to understand the world and your role in it. For Pisces, the New Moon in Scorpio can be an opportunity to make sure that you are on the right path. If you are, then you will receive confirmation for this. If not, then you will be thinking about what needs to change in order to get you back on track. A good intention for this New Moon might be: May I receive the guidance I need in order to more easily recognize my true path. This is the time of year in which Pisces is looking toward the future, as well as the roads that will lead you there. The future may seem inscrutable at this time. Even so, this is a good Moon to map out a course of action for the year ahead. Some things that the New Moon on Monday might be good for are: Exploring where you want to go from here, and how you might get there; Find out if you need a license for that, or some sort of accreditation; Should you take a class or training? What more do you need to know, and where do you need to sign up for the right sort of experience? Embark on a journey of healing and understanding. Seek guidance and advice from those who have been there. And be open to advice that you are being given.
