Horoscopes: July 18th thru the 25th

July 17, 2025 Lauren Coleman

For the New Moon for your sign, (or the natal house placement for the New Moon at 2º Leo):

Aries

(5th House) There’s no telling what adventures may await when you are willing to go off-road now and then. New ideas are being seeded even as we speak. And as Mercury retrogrades will often remind us, sometimes we have to get a little lost in order to find ourselves, as well as our kindred spirits. Know that when you are willing to try something new, to step outside of your comfort zone, that the results can be incredibly inspiring. A little inspiration can go a long way with the New Moon in Leo on July 24th. For Aries, Leo is a sign of personal expression. It is a sign that inspires us to: create something (it doesn’t matter what); to invent; express yourself; flirt, dance and rediscover what it means to feel sheer joy. The sign Leo asks you, what you might consider to be unique about you… something that you are good at, can do well, and might even want to show off. When the New Moon is in the sign of the child, we find ourselves reconnecting to our own inner child, as well as any children we are connected to. Use the New Moon to rediscover your heart’s center, to remember what it feels like to express joy, to know joy, to be comfortable in your own skin, doing what you like to do best, with those you like the most. Next Thursday, on the day of the New Moon, declare to the planetary gods that: I want all obstacles to joy and happiness lifted from me.

Taurus

(4th House) With a sextile from Venus to stationing Mercury this week, and an upcoming New Moon in Leo, we are all being asked to connect with our own heart center. And to perhaps even do so in a new and unique way. Be inspired. Remember those things that really matter to you on the most fundamental levels of your being. This may find your reflecting on the past, your roots, even your ancestors. For in some way you are being asked to stand on their shoulders, but not without getting back to some of the most salient fundamentals. The New Moon in Leo on July 24th is about new beginnings, new realizations, new ventures connected to home. Both the New Moon and the retrograde phase of Mercury are focusing in on your personal life: home, the hearth fires, family and all those things that feed your heart and soul. What is inspiring you right now to take greater charge of your personal life, as well as time-worn habits and rituals? What old habits might you want to upgrade? This would be a good Moon to work with. Use the New Moon to create better habits, healthier relationships with family members, and shore up those supportive systems in your personal life. A good intention for this New Moon might be: I want to see myself creating healthier and happier relationships between myself and others in away that brings joy and happiness to everyone concerned.

Gemini

(3rd House) Your ruling planet Mercury has just stationed for its retrograde journey, compelling you to connect with your own inner creative vision. One that is uniquely your own. It may feel like there are certain obstacles standing in the way. Perhaps a bit of fear of what the consequences could be for fully expressing yourself. It also inclines you to reflect. Reflect on past connections: an old classmate, a sibling, a cousin, a friend; if only for a chat. This is about connecting with those who have a special place in your heart, but had some how lost touch. This is your opportunity to reignite those old connections. New Moons are often about seeding new concepts or ideas, and this New Moon could be good for: following through with a new interest; taking up a new study; finding the opportunity to use your voice, your words, and speak your mind; perhaps learn something new; and dare to look at a problem from another point of view Look for inspiration in your immediate surroundings: your neighborhood, gain inspiration from the people in your everyday life. And be willing to try something new. A good intention for the New Moon on August 4th might be: May I remember what it feels like to look at the world through the eyes of a child once again.

Cancer

(2nd House) For Cancer, the New Moon in Leo can bring thoughts concerning whether or not you have enough, or need more. And this year with the New Moon opposite Pluto it may seem even more concerning. However with trines to both Saturn and Neptune and an illuminating sextile to Uranus, the solution to any existing challenges seem to be right around the corner. Even if it is not right away. Mercury’s retrograde station could stall things for a bit, but not for long. And when Mercury finishes out its retrograde phase by August 11th it could feel like you are finally ready to proceed once and for all. This New Moon is focused on creating greater security in your life, whether that be financial or otherwise. And in order to do this well you are being asked to connect with your deepest priorities, and your most essential needs. Then dare to open your heart to the idea of receiving. Is there something that you can change in your perspective that will allow this vast cycle of reciprocity to flow more naturally and easily in your direction? A good intention for the New Moon in Leo on July 24th might be: May prosperity be mine in a way that benefits all and harms none. Bur perhaps one of the best ways to use the New Moon is to consider those things that are most important to you, and then use the retrograde phase of Mercury to figure out how to make these more of a priority in your life going forward.

Leo

(1st House) The New Moon in Leo is when we celebrate your season. And being at the very early degrees of your sign, it can even feel like the commencement of your own personal New Year. Like a chick hatching from the egg, and awakening to a new life, you are being recharged with a sense of renewal. But in order to do this well, you are first needing to connect deep within your own heart. What are those things that make your heart sing? What fills your heart with joy? And in what ways might you want to share these with the world? A good intention for the New Moon on July 24th might be: May I allow the vital force of the Solar God oil me with energy and life sustaining power. This New Moon connects to each and every one of the outer planets. Therefore take all that power that is being channeled through this Moon to be an inspiration and a light for all to see. This is a New Moon of new beginnings, and a new year… therefore dare to begin this new year on the right foot, paying attention to those things that you want to be foremost in your life fur the year to come. Mercury just stationed retrograde in Leo as well, turning our attention within. Use the retrograde phase of Mercury which lasts until August 11th to truly connect with your heart of hearts, and rediscover your passions. Then allow these to be your guiding light throughout the months ahead, no matter what challenges you may be facing.

Virgo

(12th House) Your ruing planet Mercury only just stationed in Leo for its retrograde phase which lasts until August 11th. Combined with the New Moon in Leo on July 24th it places a significant emphasis on things from the past, and all those things that have brought you to this place in time. This is the sign where Virgo goes to tie up the loose ends of the life that was, to bring closure and pay attention to those things that need finishing. For you it is a sign of endings and completion. But it is also where we go to connect within, perhaps to the very heart of things, and within our own spiritual center. What is possible with both the New Moon and Mercury retrograde in Leo is to: discover what is hidden in your heart and mind; to have secrets revealed and the past explained; that which was once hidden now comes to light; and to revisit the past, if not actually, then through your memories and dreams. Successfully navigated the New Moon in Leo could even bring some transcendental experiences, or experiences that bring evidence of the spirit world and the intuition. And from which you can actually receive guidance. Use the retrograde phase of Mercury to clear out the space junk from your mind. Make room for better things to take root. Take time to reflect and reminisce. But most importantly use the New Moon on Thursday to connect with your own heart center. For there’s not telling what you might discover there.

Libra

(11th House) The Leo New Moon is when we are asked to rediscover our joy. For Libra much of that joy can be found amongst your social circles, with friends and within your network of associates and group affiliations. It is through certain shared experiences that you get your inspiration, and can be an important source for your vital energy. Mercury has also just stationed retrograde in Leo, and with that you could also find yourself longingly thinking of those who have a special place in your heart and mind. Use the New Moon on July 24th to reach out to those that you once knew so well and would like to have back in your life once again. And know that the New Moon in Leo is also your wishing moon. Therefore also use the New Moon to connect with those hopes, wishes, and aspirations that can and will restore your belief and hope in the future. And each year the the New Moon falls in this sign, and/or 11th house, cast your wishes out into space. But before you do so, use the station of Mercury this week to connect with your heart-centered hopes and wishes. Especially those that you would like most to see realized this year. This may require you to reassess and adjust your hopes and wishes, gauging which are the most important to you now. Then make the intention with the New Moon next Thursday to: Welcome joy, laughter and heart-felt abundance into my life.

Scorpio

(10th House) It can feel as if you are being asked to have hope even in the face of extraordinary circumstances, even in cases where it feels as if you have absolutely no control. But this is not a time for hopelessness. It is a time for review. It may require you to take a few steps back, reassess, reconsider where you see yourself going in the future. This may require you to take a few chances, or try something new. But probably more importantly, is what the upcoming New Moon is trying to show you. The New Moon in Leo can open doors and bring new opportunities, either through your work, or to improve your work and the way you do it. If nothing else, the New Moon has the capacity to breathe new life into what you do. Use the New Moon, an incredibly creative moon, to set goals for yourself, or achievements that you would like to aim for. Things to focus on with the New Moon on July 24th might be: making a list of the goals that you would lie to see yourself achieve over the year ahead; develop greater respect for who you are, what you have achieved and accomplished already; and cultivate a healthy sense of responsibility. Dare to promote yourself, or something you do. Show the world what makes you different. A good intention to make for this New Moon might be: I want to see myself devoted to fulfilling my dreams and achieving my goals.

Sagittarius

(9th House) When the New Moon falls in Leo, Sagittarius will often find themselves wistfully longing for farther horizons, perhaps even planning their next best journey. Whether by land or by sea, or something that proves to be more of an internal journey, Sagittarius is almost always up for some sort of adventure, or the opportunity to gain some deeper understanding of their world, and their place in it. Use the New Moon on July 24th to focus on: Expanding your knowledge on a particular subject; looking at an issue from another point of view; planning your next adventure here or abroad; learning something new (including enrolling in a traditional educational program); or expanding your awareness and point of view in other ways. And because Sagittarius is Sagittarius, don’t be surprised if you hear from someone who lives far away, perhaps someone that you once knew so well, but has since moved away. Or perhaps you find yourself longingly wanting to connect with someone from another culture, country, or background from yours. There’s something to be learned from every corner, nook and cranny when the New Moon is in Leo. A good intention for the New Moon in Leo next Thursday might be: May I allow my inner guides to bring me precisely where I need to be be in order to fulfill my destiny.

Capricorn

(8th House) When the New Moon is in Leo, it has the capacity to bring all sorts of things to the surface that usually stay hidden, and away from view. This can be quite helpful. For instance: discovering things that you had not previously realize; finally solving a mystery or a puzzle that had been plaguing you. But what the New Moon can also bring you is the permission to just say No More, or to back out of situations that had become too oppressive. And this can be true, even in situations that may have felt too impossible. Sometimes by simply considering other options, or looking at things from another perspective, you can see solutions where previously you only saw obstacles. Mercury retrograde may find you wanting to reassess contracts, write out that will, get that insurance. There is something here about being prepared for all contingencies, and the New Moon may show you what those contingencies could be. The next few weeks are also about figuring out those things that feed your soul, and make you feel whole again, vs. those things that just drain you and wear you down. The 8th house is a transition house, where both beginnings and endings merge. It contains the hidden, the forbidden, as well as the practical necessities of life. The New Moon in this area of your natal or Solar chart gives the opportunity to: conquer your fears; release self-defeating habits; prepare yourself for the future; back out of oppressive agreements; and create enough space in your life to allow greater joy and abundance back into your life.

Aquarius

(7th House) The annual New Moon in Leo offers Aquarius the opportunity to make new starts when it comes to partners and the other important people in hour life. The 7th house is commonly referred to as the house of marriage, so the first thing that comes to mind is one’s spouse or partner. But it can also concern close friends and allies, counselors, lawyers, mentors, those who inspire you or have served as a catalyst, an advisor and even a competitor. This is when you size each other up, you find your people, you reassess what they mean to you. With Uranus newly entering Gemini and Pluto now in your sign, the importance of being open to change, to welcoming new people into your life, can be critical to this gradual metamorphosis that Aquarius is embarking on. And the New Moon on July 24th could be instrumental in bringing some of the necessary people and pieces together. Things that you could use the New Moon in Leo for: creating more fairness in your relationships with others; strengthening certain ties; clarifying your mutual expectations with other; coming to further appreciate your relationships, not only with your closest relationships, but also with others in general. A good intention for the New Moon might be: May I be recognize and find those people who will help to further me along on my path.

Pisces

(6th House) Mercury stationing for its retrograde phase alone is trying to lure you into some sort of self-improvement program. Add on the New Moon in Leo next Thursday, and you will begin to see something clicking. New Moons give us incentive. And for Pisces the New Moon in Leo is very good for things like revamping your routines, addressing your everyday habits and rituals, including paying attention to those things that support your well-being such as diet, exercise, or anything else that makes you ‘healthier’, ‘stronger’ or well satisfied. This may mean having to make some adjustments to your daily routines or schedule. Just know that by doing so it can also improve your energy, and a little more joie de vivre to your daily life and routines, and find you more willing to try new things, with the promise of overcoming any challenges you may have been facing lately. Combining both the retrograde phase of Mercury in Leo, along with the New Moon, some useful questions for the next few weeks might be: What useful skills might I want to work on over the next 3 weeks? How can I make my work, or work place, more efficient and/or enjoyable at the same time? In what ways can I improve my work space and environment? What new rituals might I want to incorporate into my daily schedule?
