In the wake of the Super Full Moon on August 11th, could come the realization that we are standing at a turning point in the year. We have arrived at the mid-point between the two Lunar Eclipses, and with this will come a shift. Out with the old, and in with the new. We may resist these changes. But know also that some of these changes are part of the natural order of things, and are simply unavoidable.

The last of the season’s Supermoons, the Full Moon Sturgeon Moon rises on the evening of August 11th next week. What makes this Moon so significant astrologically is not just that this is another Supermoon. At 19º Aquarius 21’, the Full Moon is just 3º from retrograde Saturn at 22º of Aquarius, and within a degree of a square to Uranus and the North Node at 18º of Taurus. And coming so soon after the triple conjunction of Mars/Uranus and the North Node, we can see a number of themes coming into play within the aegis of this coming week’s Full Moon.

Taurus is a sign of the Earth, those things that support us, that we need for our survival, and that we most value and cherish. And as Uranus and the North Node are both now in Taurus, we cannot ignore the things related to our Mother the Earth, including climate and weather. The New Moon in Leo on July 28th at 5º of Leo ushers in Leo season this year with a little extra drama. Leo is a hot and fiery sign, and with a Mars/Uranus/North Node conjunction tightening up towards the end of the month, things could feel ready to ignite. On Tuesday, July 19th, Chiron will station for its retrograde phase that lasts until December 23rd. For the 5 months that Chiron will be in its retrograde phase we are tasked with paying attention to our own healing journey, for this is when we are able to make the most growth and progress. Chiron in Aries is here to remind us that we aren’t going to be much use to anyone else, if we don’t also take care of ourselves.

The Full Moon on July 13th at 21º of Capricorn is going to be the closest Full Moon of the year. As a result it will be brighter, larger and grander than ever. It will seem especially so when it is rising and setting, due to a phenomenon called the Moon Illusion, which exaggerates the size of the Moon specifically at the skyline. These Super Full Moons, a term coined by astrologer Richard Nolle, can add a bit of intensity to the tides and affairs of humanity, as well as on the tides and tectonic plates of our planet. Mars enters Taurus this week. And why it matters.

This week Neptune stations for its retrograde phase just hours before the New Moon in Cancer on Tuesday (or Wednesday, depending on where you are). Both of these are significant events. And both encourage us to be more inspired, to be open to wonder, to expand the boundaries of our imagination, and to embrace our deepest feelings and emotions.

On Tuesday, we have a Super Full Moon in the sign of Sagittarius. Full Moons are times of culmination and revelation. And although this is a time of harvest it is also an opportunity to make any changes, especially if you feel that you have been led astray, and are not happy with the results you are now seeing.
