2021 is a transition year. Change is never easy. There will be growing pains and there will be resistance. And things are probably only going to get a little crazier over the next few weeks. Hold on to your hats everyone, and strap on those seat belts, we’re in for an unpredictable and unprecedented ride.

As we stand at the precipice between the old year and the next, I think many of us will be happy to see the back end of 2020 receding into the past. May we clear out all the lingering vestiges of the year that was, in order to make room for much, much better things to come. Happy New Year to one and all.

The Full Moon in Cancer is normally a time for gathering with family and loved ones, as well as a time for nostalgic celebration of the year that was and gazing with a healthy resolve towards the year to come. And even though we may have to see family on Zoom or FaceTime, and there is nothing normal about 2020, the annual ritual of saying goodbye to what was (perhaps gleefully so) and greeting the New Year to come (maybe with a little trepidation), remains the time honored tradition that it always was.

On Thursday, December 17th, Saturn entered Aquarius, followed by Jupiter entering Aquarius on the 19th. Then on the Solstice, December 21st they will be exactly conjunct. The last time this close a conjunction was this visible was in 1226! These conjunctions of the two largest planets in our Solar System are known as Great Conjunctions. May the Great Conjunction of 2020 lead us onward to greater and more magnificent horizons.

The transition is begun. And once it is started there is no going back. Therefore may we grow back not to what was, but instead towards what we can become. A Total Solar Eclipse on Monday is followed by Saturn and Jupiter entering Aquarius next week.

We are now in the void between the Lunar and Solar Eclipses. Things fade. Other things are trying to unfold. What that exactly is, is still somewhat uncertain for now. Eclipses are so unpredictable. All the more so when we are under a Neptunian fugue. Therefore all we can do is proceed on faith that everything will turn out as it should.

This is not your most dramatic total Lunar Eclipse, and you might not even notice it was happening even if you were watching it. A Penumbral Lunar Eclipse is more subtle, and not quite as obvious. Nonetheless, it is an Eclipse. A Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Gemini.

Neptune stations at the end of this month as it also squares the Nodes of the Moon. This can cast a veil of confusion and uncertainty on the world as we also enter Eclipse Season.

We have a powerful New Moon in Scorpio this weekend. What makes it a force to reckon with are: 1) Mars stations Direct on Friday giving it a boost of energy and enthusiasm; and 2) an exact sextile to the massively transformative Jupiter/Pluto conjunction.

Jupiter and Pluto join forces on November 12th, conspiring to transform and reframe the narrative. Ultimately we are all being urged to get back to what really matters.
