We have a New Moon in Pisces on Sunday. It sits at the midpoint of the Mars/Uranus trine. Innovation, creativity, and magic.

Mercury stations retrograde in Pisces, the Sun enters Pisces and Jupiter is sextile Neptune… Pisces, Pisces and more Pisces to balance some of that Capricorn.

There is a Full Moon in Leo this week: the Full Snow Moon of February. It brings things into stark relief, brings things to conclusion, to a head, and brings our emotions to the surface.

Mercury enters Pisces where it will have a longer than usual stay. Normally Mercury only spends a matter of weeks in each sign. But thanks to its retrograde later this month, except for a few weeks in March it will be almost exclusively in Pisces until April 11th. Normally I don’t pay mind to the shadow periods before the retrograde, but this one looks a little special.

The New Moon in Aquarius is on January 24th. A time of healing, revelation and change.

This coming week we will be navigating some unpredictable but potentially enlightening Uranian squares. 

If you’ve been wondering what has been going on this month, it is this: 1) a Lunar Eclipse on Friday in opposition to Mercury, Sun, Saturn and Pluto; 2) the exact conjunction of Saturn and Pluto on Sunday (which only occurs approximately every 35 years); and 3) the station of Uranus on Friday as well. This space between the eclipses could feel a little like the calm before the storm. Though in many parts of the world it is already bubbling and broiling. Pay attention to those things in the world, and in our own lives, that are proving to be unsustainable. We are being asked to build better, more reliable, more sustainable structures we know we can depend on.

We are in the midst of the Solar Eclipse which just passed and the upcoming Lunar Eclipse on January 10th. Like two bookends surrounding the New Year, we reflect on what was, and look forward to what may come.
