February 2nd ~ 9th
A lot of people resist transition and therefore never allow themselves to enjoy who they are. Embrace the change, no matter what it is; once you do, you can learn about the new world you’re in and take advantage of it. ~ Nikki Giovanni
Eclipse seasons can be exhausting. You could feel like something is fading, or like your energy is pouring out of you, like water down a drain. It could also feel overwhelming, like way too much information is coming at you all at once, to the point that you can’t put it all together and make anything out of it. It feels a little like those spinning beach balls that you get on your computer when all the memory is being zapped by some hidden force. But perhaps a better metaphor for eclipses, is to think of ourselves drifting on these shifting giant tectonic plates. The forces at hand are much larger than ourselves, and there’s no telling where we are going to end up, when all is said and done.
This is why it is not recommended to make major decisions or commitments until after the Eclipse period is over. And not for nothing, but decisions and actions taken during these Eclipse windows can often have extraordinary and unforeseen consequences. Best to wait them out, if you can. Eclipses can usher in new beginnings, but they can also swiftly take things away. Embrace what is bring brought to you as we drift along on these shifting tides. And avoid stirring up unnecessary trouble if it can at all be helped. As a friend of mine reminded me, there are times when it is best to “keep your oar out of the water” in order to avoid creating even more problems.
And so we stand here poised between the the two eclipses: the Lunar Eclipse that just passed and the upcoming Solar Eclipse on February 15th.
These periods can be, and often are times of correction, turning points in our lives, and periods of revelation. Truths are revealed and brought to the surface. Something can happen that demands our immediate attention, that cannot be ignored. With the North Node in Leo, a spotlight is shining brightly in some department of our lives, and there will be no way to avoid it. Flexibility is key during these windows, for there is no telling what the eclipses may be ushering in or taking away. And we may not learn the full truth of a situation until weeks after the Eclipses have passed.
Not all will be affected by these particular sets of Eclipses. Usually, you are more likely to feel them if they hit a sensitive point in your natal chart. But even if they don’t they can still bring a sense of awareness in some department of your life. As we move through this liminal time, where space and time seem to warp and weft in unforeseen ways, it is probably advisable for us all to be a little more flexible than usual, and avoid taking on any more than we can possibly handle. There’s just no telling what might crop up in these windows between the eclipses.
