September 29th ~ October 6th
“Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling Your ring?” Said the Piggy, “I will.”
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon;
And hand in hand on the edge of the sand,
They danced by the light of the moon,
They danced by the light of the moon.
~ Edward Lear
We continue to take a wild ride on the Jupiter/Uranus train this week, but it should be noticeably less frantic, now that we are on the other side of the exact opposition on the 28th. It will still take some time to adapt to whatever new reality we now find ourselves in. This can be extreme, as it must have been for many living in the Caribbean and Mexico. Especially combined with the Pluto station. Pluto never does things lightly. Pluto digs deep holes, and dares us to plead with the Gods, as we find ourselves submerged in his depths. But it is in these depths of the Plutonian lair that we make the most profound discoveries about the meaning and purpose of life. This will be particularly poignant as we lead up to Jupiter entering Scorpio on the 10th of October.
This coming week, as the lascivious duo, Venus and Mars are colluding in the sign of Virgo, they will be trine Pluto as well. As Venus and Mars, are also the significators for the upcoming Full Moon on Thursday, we can anticipate a passionate and compelling Full Moon indeed. The Full Moon is in Aries, a Martian sign, filled with vinegar and verve. A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon are in opposition, with the Moon in one sign, and the Sun in the opposing sign. In this case, the Sun is in the Venus sign of Libra, with the Moon in Aries. Aries is a fiery, passionate sign on its own. But when Venus, the planet of love and desire, is exchanging energy with Mars, the planet of physical and sexual vigor, the passions are kindled, and flames ignited. All the more so, since they will also be trine Pluto this week. Full Moons can have this way of shining a spotlight on events, or making things more energetically and emotionally charged.
In my defense the Moon was full, and I was left unsupervised.
Sexual drives are heightened in this weather, but so are all of our creative drives. Anything you have a passion for will be more deeply invested. And traveling in Virgo, we are more than willing to lay our hearts on the altar of service and humility. Virgo is a giving sign, a sign of service, a sign of unconditional love, that loves without expectation, just merely loves. But there is also an element of practicality with this sign as well, a sign accustomed to putting aside personal desires for more practical concerns… that is provided Mars and Pluto are not flattering Venus with their advances as they are this week. In this case, this can also be about investing all that we do, all our good works and services, with a deeply passionate, and soulful abandon. Love is felt and expressed deeply, and charged with magnetic appeal, when the dark Lord Pluto is in the picture. Like Persephone kidnapped and absconded to the underworld, we may also find ourselves inexorably drawn to certain people or situations, as if we had no will of our own.
Through the Light of this fiery Full Moon all our hidden passions, longing, drives, desires and needs come bubbling to the surface. Therefore may we all discover and connect with those things that we are most passionate about. Venus/Mars/Pluto can also be about rebuilding and rebirthing, and in the light of a spate of recent tragedies over the past month, this is well nigh due. May all that we do, may all that we create and invest in, come from the heart and soul; and through the Hall of Virgo, may we also be in humble service to all beings everywhere.
